Penobscot Job Corps Celebrates the National Program’s 50th Birthday

A big birthday is being celebrated in Bangor.

The nationwide Job Corps program turns 50 Wednesday.

Local students are participating in a variety of events to celebrate.

Those studying for a job in the construction field put on a medieval catapult competition.

There was also a chili cook-off for culinary students. TV5′s Todd Simcox was one of the judges.

Penobscot Job Corps has been around for 34 years, and those who’ve attended believe the program has made quite an impact.
