ALBANY, GA (WALB) –
Community members and workers celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Turner Job Corps in Albany by digging up and opening a time capsule from 20 years ago.
The capsule, placed in the ground in 1994, contained video on VHS tape, a magazine, a t-shirt commemorating the Corps’ 30th anniversary, among other items.
Job Corps is a no-cost education and career technical training program managed by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps people ages 16 through 24 improve the quality of their lives through vocational and academic training.
