At-Risk Youth

Building Skills
Student-Driven Instruction
Job Corps recognizes that a cookie-cutter approach to student success is what led many of them to fall behind in the first place. As a result, Job Corps offers students diverse academic options and career pathways tailored to their needs. Job Corps students have access to charter schools, online high school programs, co-enrollement programs with local schools and community colleges, and vocational offerings in over 100 different trades in 11 major industries.

Launching Careers
Employer-Driven Curricula
For over 50 years Job Corps has succeeded in helping its students enter the middle class because it takes a demand-driven approach to workforce development. Every Job Corps center has an industry advisory council that helps ensure that the trades offered at the center match local and regional needs and that the curricula of these trades match the skills local and regional employers are seeking. Job Corps centers also utilize internships to give students on-the-job experience and to learn directly from employers the skills they need to be successful.
Transforming Lives
24/7 Residential Care
Job Corps is the only program of its kind that also teaches life training skills by providing a full residential experience. Counselors, academic and vocational instructors, and residential advisors work with students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to teach responsibility, citizenship, financial literacy, career readiness and social development skills.
